Talks with the New Head of the EU Delegation to Egypt

Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources received Ambassador Ivan Surkos, the new Head of the EU Delegation to Egypt, where they reviewed mutual cooperation in the energy domain.

The Minister highlighted the ambitious plan of transforming Egypt into a regional hub for energy and the EU initiatives, which could contribute to achieving the plan over the coming period. He also reviewed the procedures taken for organizing the Gas Market activities in Egypt to turn into a competitive market. Furthermore, He reviewed the Petroleum Sector Modernization plan and they discussed the possibility of the EU participating in the project.

The Ambassador praised the country’s vision in executing economic reforms and asserted that the Petroleum Sector, in particular, comes on top priorities to the EU in consolidating cooperation with Egypt.
