First Commercial Production For Block 4 Of GNOP In Sudan Commences On 30th May 2004.

Diffra field of Block 4 of GNOP Sudan has been put on commercial production from 15th may 2004. The first well in Block 4, DW-3 produced oil on 15th may 2004 followed by DW-1, DW-4, and Hamam-2. The fifth well Hamam-1 was commissioned on 23rd may 2004. Oil production from Diffra has now been established and this field is currently producing nearly 20,400 bopd (barrel of oil per day). First commercial production for Block 4 achieved was 30th may 2004; with this additional Oil production of the GNOP has crossed 300,000 bopd mark.

OVL has 25% stake in the GNOP project, which is held through its 100% owned subsidiary, ONGBV registered in the Netherlands. OVL, the international E&P company of India earned nearly 428 crore profit during FY2003-04 and is keen to increase its Oil and Gas production from the overseas assets. The company at present has 11 assets in 8 countries of which 5 assets have Oil and Gas discoveries and two of them are producing Oil and Gas.
