Health, Safety and Environment Protection Workshop in Upstream Activities in Oil and Gas Industry

Within the framework of Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources initiative for Health, Safety and Environment Protection Workshop in Upstream activities in Oil and Gas Industry to review the procedures followed in this domain. In addition, the workshop identifies the technologies and scientific methods in the International Oil Companies operating in Egypt to exchange experiences and communicate with each other.

Chairmen of EGPC, the Holding Companies and the heads of international Oil companies operating in Egypt; Eni, Shell, BP, Apache and heads of the joint ventures companies, have participated effectively in the workshop’s activities.

In his opening speech, the Petroleum Minister pointed that, the workshop will be held annually , as " The Safety Day ", emphasizing its significance as a main factor role among the in the whole value chain of the Petroleum Industry operations, in terms of full responsibility for the safety of workers and ensure safe operation for the employees, equipment and facilities. This is considered a major corner in the Ministry of Petroleum's strategy for 20/2021 and the modernization of the Petroleum Sector project, in order to reach a certain perspective that will put us on the road to “ New Egypt’s” and a promising future for oil and gas industry.

He stressed on the Ministry's vision during this period which implies to unlock the Sector's potentials, achieving sustainable development for Egypt & financial revenues and to transfer into a regional energy hub, taking into account all the measures and International standards in the Sector’s management, on top of which, is achieving safety and health in the various petroleum activities.
