SUMED Signed $324m Contract for Ain Sukhna Product Hub

SUMED signed the first contract for utilization of SUMED Ain Sukhna Product Hub (ASPH) Jetty With Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Tarek El Molla Egyptian Minister of Petroleum.

The project is known as "Ain Sukhna Product Hub ASPH" including onshore and offshore facilities to provide the services of storage, loading, unloading and send out of Fuel oil, LPG and Natural Gas aiming at increasing the added value for its current and prospective clients by fulfilling their requirements.

The project includes the construction of a 2.2 kilometer pier with a depth range of 19-21 meters to accommodate LNG tankers up to a capacity of 216,000 m3, Floating Storage & Regasification Units (FSRU) with capacity up to 170,000 m3, Fuel Oil and LPG tankers, as well as the construction of a number of LPG and Fuel Oil tanks.

The project will be accomplished in two phases: Phase 1 involves the handling of Liquefied Natural Gas and is planned to be ready to run in Q1 2017, while phase 2 involves the handling of LPG and Fuel Oil, planned to be ready to operate in Q2 2018.

The onshore facilities for the project include:
-3 X 50,000 LPG Refrigerated Tanks.
-3 X 35,000 Fuel Oil Tanks.
-1 X 20,000 Gas Oil Flushing Tank.

The offshore facilities for the project include:
-One FSRU/LNG berth for natural gas import via 170 000 m3 FSRU vessel and with export capacity of 500 MMSCFD.
-One combined LPG/product berth to accommodate LPG carriers in the range 5000 m3 to 82 000 m3 and oil tankers in the range 25 000 DWT to 160 000 DWT.
