A memorandum of understanding was signed in Amman, Jordan, by Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Dr. Ibrahim Saif, Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and Mr. Adel Abdel Mahdi, Iraq's Oil Minister, in order to support cooperation in oil and gas fields among the three countries, in light of the surplus production capacity of oil and gas in Iraq, achieve best exploitation of available capacities and transferring facilities & processing natural gas in Jordan and Egypt, as well as achieving economic integration in this important field to support the economic development plans of the three countries.
It’s worth mentioning that Jordanian King Abdullah II received the Ministers of Egypt, Iraq and Jordan, after signing the MOU, where they discussed the possibility of benefiting from the Egyptian companies expertise in implementing the oil and gas pipelines, to be erected from Iraq to Jordan.
